Taken at dusk, this photograph has to be printed just right to get the sense of the light shining out into the gloom without losing the clarity of detail in the snow-laden branches. Many people, myself included, find the image reminds them of the "lamppost in the wood" in the Narnia stories. The path, officially "Scholars Walk", has a lovely curve as it approaches the bridge.
